Chicago Servicemen's Center

Servicemen's Centers were created throughout the United States for American military personnel who were either in training or passing through Chicago on their way to the Pacific or Atlantic fronts during WWII.

Chicago's Auditorium Theater was one of those Centers. It was handed over to the USO and became a lounge and bowling alley for the servicemen.

Several original 1940s photos from the Chicago Tribune of the Servicemen's Center are available this week on eBay. Click here to see these historic photos.
